It’s mid-November and about time to talk about Christmas. John Lewis released their new TV ad leaving us with a warm feeling in our hearts; at least some of us were affected.
The Oxford Street Christmas lights are on, therefore, I feel the pressure to start planning this year’s Christmas in more detail.
Right! Let’s start with the overall scheme. What to go for this year? I’m going to show you three options, so please let me know your thoughts.
The first one I would call Traditional as it sticks to three typical Christmas colours: red, green and gold. I like this scheme as it’s fairly easy to pull off, and you don’t need too many things on your Christmas tree (red and golden baubles, golden or red chain and you are done). Below last year’s Christmas Day and S’s parents house.
Second one that caught my eyes this year is Scandi look (what a suprise!). For those who are reading my blog for the first time, I’m totally obsessed with everything Scandinavian from Stieg Larsson, through ‘The Killing’ and ‘Wallander’ to a simple and fresh Scandi decor.
Scandi Christmas equals white and red colour palette plus reindeers and snowflakes motives. Very cute!
The last style I wanted to ask your opinion about is Country. It’s like going back to our rustic roots. Think grandma’s house in a village or a mountain log cabin. Bare wood and natural textures, home-made decorations and no glitter. Warm and cosy!
Which look are you planning to go for? Are any of the above styles appeal to you? Any other suggestions?
p.s. 40 days left!!!
