Inspiring places: Boxpark Shoreditch

Last in the series in 2012 is going to be, SURPRISE, SURPRISE, about last minute Christmas shopping. Why not head to BOXPARK just off Shoreditch High Street Station (by the way, very modern overground station).

Boxpark Shoreditch

What I like about it is not only the location (right in a centre of trendy East London), but how it was constructed (made from stripped and repurposed shipping containers…boxes…you know where I’m going with this).

BOXPARK Shoreditch is some sort of a retail circus (in theory it can be moved). ‘The world’s first pop-up mall’ consists of carefully selected brands from fashion, through lifestyle to art galleries and food & drink outlets (I recommend burrito).  I’m sure you’ll be able to purchase last minute gifts there. My favourite box there is Marimekko.

If you are in the area, pop in to the Rocket Gallery in the Tea Building across the street from BOXPARK. Currently they are showing Martin Parr’s photography.

If you’ve got a spare evening, head to the Aubin cinema, which offers super comfortable viewing experience for up to 45 cinema-goers.

Less people, less noise and disruptions. Bliss!

Good luck with your last minute shopping! Have a wonderful Christmas break!
