Inspiring places: V&A Museum on Friday night

Hello All,

How is your weekend going so far?

Yesterday after work, my friend Charlotte and I decided to finally pay a visit to the Victoria and Albert Museum, which is located 5 mins from our office.

The museum was established in the 19th century, and is currently known for the astounding collection of art and design.

The entrance hall will impress you immediately with the Bocci chandelier designed by Omer Arbel. You still have few weeks to see it.

Also, the other one made of glass by Dale Chihuly is eye-catching.

The place itself is magical, and you can find yourself being lost there whilst immersing yourself in art, photography, design…I love it! You could easily spend there hours without realising.

We came across an excellent installation (a stage set showing an apartment belonging to an elderly architect) created by two contemporary artists Michael Elmgreen and Ingar Dragset. Worth exploring, and it’s free!

If you feel like reading more about art and design, make sure you visit the National Art Library. I would imagine studing there would be delightful. What a space!

Have you been to the V&A before? What is your favourite part?

Have a lovely weekend.

  1. I am with Doris! So jealous that you get to walk to the V&A from work! I have to fly 9 hours! Haha. I loved the Chihuly sculpture in the entrance as well! There was not anything I did not love! We sat and had lunch in the cafe and I just stared at all the beautiful tile work ,architecture and those stunning light fixtures! You have a gem in your city for sure! Hope all is well With you! Have a great week!
