Time for purple lilacs

Good morning,

If you’ve got a good sense of smell, I’m sure you’ve noticed that the lilacs are back.

I wanted to bring their beautiful scent inside, so I could enjoy them even more whilst having my breakfast.

Christmas countdown

Hello All,

Hope you are enjoying this frosty but beautifully sunny day in England.

Those who follow me on Instagram might have seen the photos of my stunning Christmas cactus, which was a gift from S’s mum (Thank you).

It is prominently displayed on our kitchen windowsill. When it’s started blooming, I just can’t stop admiring it.

Christmas countdown has started. I might put my Xmas decorations up tomorrow.

Merry Christmas

Are you looking forward to Christmas? What are your plans?

Urban Jungle Bloggers: My plant shelfie

For those of you who don’t know it, Urban Jungle Bloggers is a monthly series created by Igor and Judith who wanted to share their passion for green urban spaces with the fellow bloggers.

This month’s topic is about your plant shelfie, not to be confused with a selfie.

I’ve decided to showcase my favourite shelf in the kitchen with a view on our secret garden.

My plant shelfie is featuring the money tree, my happy fern (It came back to life since I moved it from the living room), and three cute succulents.

Feel free to join the fun with Urban Jungle Bloggers. I’d love to see what you come up with.

Purple lilacs in the kitchen

Hope you are having a sunny Sunday.

I don’t know about you, but the smell of lilacs releases serotonin in my brain. I love it!

There’s a massive lilac tree in our garden, so every few days I’ve been bringing some flowers home to fill it with this wonderful smell (some folks think that the lilacs bring bad luck…I’m not superstitious about it).

Purple lilacks mixed with yellowI found an old tiny bottle and put a few purple flowers in it. I think it looks lovely in our kitchen. Purple and yellow look good together, don’t you think?

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Pimped up fridge

Hello All,

Hope your Sunday is super sunny. It feels like spring is coming soon. Hurry up!

Last year I started thinking of revamping our old and pretty boring fridge. I had a couple of ideas, but eventually decided to go for Stickygram.

It’s very easy, and not too expensive. You just upload your Instagram photos, and they send you small fridge magnets. They look pretty good, don’t you think?

They bring all the positive emotions, and I get to look at them every day.

As I had few pictures I love that are pre-Instagram, I used Photobox for slightly bigger magnets. I’m planning to keep adding to this photo gallery.

What do you think? How does your fridge look like?

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Simple pleasures – Apple crumble with custard

Hope your weekend is going well.

I’m really getting into baking nowadays. Apple crumble is, by far, the easiest cake to make, and it’s absolutely delicious. I always add cinnamon as well.

Apple crumble with custard

For me, ideal with custard, but you can have it with ice-cream if you prefer.

You can find the recipe here.

Happy baking!

Simple pleasures – Sunday baking

Hi All,

I’m finally getting over another cold this winter, so thought I’ll celebrate this sunny Sunday with a cake.
